Hate Mail
American Polymath has received a fair amount of feedback over the past few months. Mostly far too kind. Some of it has been less than kind and far more amusing. Enjoy.
I Finally Realized that Facebook has Changed the World
Technology is not all bad. Facebook is the latest thing and just because you don’t like it doesn’t mean you have to hate on it that way. -

It is clear from reading this article that you are not a user of Facebook. Facebook is a way for people to hookup; find old friends; plan parties and stuff. Get a life.

What the World Needs Now is Rob Deer
How many titles did Rob Deer win? How about Gorman Thomas? The teams with guys like that in the 80s all sucked. It was a losing strategy then. It is now too. It’s so in to be anti-Billy Beane and anti-SABRmetrics now. All the teams that have won the World Series this decade, think Theo and then Kenny Williams, have played “moneyball.” Way to pile on. You will probably do an article next time about how Blindsided sucks too.

I don’t think you go into the numbers enough to back it up. You just cherrypick Rob Deer and don’t tell me anything about the other guys you mention.

If You Read This the Communists Win: An Evening with Glenn Beck
It really says a lot for your author that he has time to waste on this shit. Yeah, Glenn Beck isn’t funny.

The Beardcore Manifesto
Why would you pigeonhole bands that way, you fucktard. Bon Iver and My Morning Jacket especially. It’s not fair for them and it doesn’t let them grow as artists and express themselves without some bullshit label like Beardcore.

Totally unfair to MMJ. You don’t get them at all. And your mean shit about their fans is so fucking childish you must be some fucking loser in his dorm just fucking pulling shit out of his ass. Try listening to some real music with out judging. Free your mind.

Honestly, it’s been stuff like this lately that makes me want to shave OFF my beard for the first time in 12 years…also I think any real fan of both beards and the Byrds would prefer the work (and look) of Gene Parsons over Gram Parsons and Gene Clark.

Kokomo: The Last Great Song by America’s Greatest Band
Are we listening to the same band? You think the 70s Beach Boys were an oldies act. If you go back and look at their setlists from their 1973-1978 tours, you will see otherwise. They play at least half new songs in every one of these sets. Sure, they play “Surfin USA” and “Help Me Rhonda” but they play a lot of songs from Surf’s Up, Sunflower, and Holland, all great albums.
(Attached are about 20 Beach Boys setlists)

Kid. Try harder next time. You don’t like the Beach Boys. You think it’s cool to like Brian Wilson cause you heard it on some VH1 “I Love the 80s” show. F off.
“Motorboat”
Not a bad premise, but this is a bad article. Mike Love kept that band alive and you just try to be cool and blame him for everything. The only reason they still ever tour is him. Brian’s the best, but he is not still even a Beach Boy. Get your facts straight before you put something in print.

Jay Bennett’s Summerteeth
Why the fuck is it called Jay Bennett’s Summerteeth? What the fuck is a Polymath? Your site sucks my white ass.
